Bucket List, an inspiration

My bucket list only consists of three things, so I decided to go out into the rain and photograph a beautiful resting place. I have never been to this cemetery before, and I found the iron gates beautiful.

Okay here is my list, humble as it is.
1. Travel to the Greek isles. I have always been fascinated by Greek philosophers and Greek history.
2. Buy some land and plant a garden with lilac trees, rose bushes, and lily's of the valley.
3. See my children safe and happy.

  1. Yayyyy! Jane's "list"
Last fall we went over to a friend's house who needed to "thin out" her lily of the valley! Wow, they took off this spring as though they'de been with me and my soil for decades! SO fragrant..

Good eye Jane - imagine how many people drive past that gate and do not even notice the intricacy and the character and charm due to the worn/old appearance.

I'm not sure, though, that I like you bucket list combined with cemetary photos!!
So, I've separated the two in my own head! Though I have always been intrigued with headstones etc.. Just history I think.

  2. Dawn, I also love cemetery landscapes. I always have. Did I ever write about how my Mom taught me to drive, in Forest Hill cemetery in Duluth? Yes! True story. Now if you have ever been there you know it is hilly, curvy and has huge trees. Good place to learn, and I could kill no one! Hehehe!

Hey the reality is, a "bucket list" is the list of things we would do before we left this earth. I am not morbid, I promise. I even had a conversation with my husband this afternoon as he drove me here and there about our final wishes. Cremation or burial? It all comes down to choices, doesn't it?

  3. FUN-NEE! "I could kill no one!"

When I go on my 2-3,000-mile bike rides, I frequently stop at cemeteries--even if I have to go out of my way...They are always so 'peaceful' there. And great for photos--at which YOU are a master, Lady Jane!

  4. Your photos are so beautiful and delicate, can not find nothing morbid in them, however, spend much peace and sensitivity on your part. I loved it!
